A great deal of time and thought was spent in selecting the charities to benefit from the Seattle Red Dress Party. The four amazing organizations we’ve chosen, Gay City Health Project, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Multifaith Works, and Rise N’ Shine, represent the leading AIDS service organizations in the Pacific Northwest. Together, they provide a holistic continuum of care and prevention services to our community. They work to stop the spread of HIV and care for people living with HIV/AIDS. Their services include:

• Free HIV and STD testing
• Safer-sex education and provision of free condoms
• Delivery of fresh meals and groceries
• Transitional and permanent housing services
• Counseling and emotional support programs for youth
• Full payment of medical insurance premiums
• Outreach and companionship to the ill and isolated
• Faith-based and spiritual support programs

Gay City Health Project is a multicultural gay men's health organization located in Seattle, WA and the leading provider of HIV and STI testing in King County. Our mission is to promote the health of gay and bisexual men (including those who are transgender) and prevent HIV transmission by building community, fostering communication, and nurturing self-esteem.

Gay City was created in 1995 by a group of community activists with a bold vision of transforming gay culture, health and quality of life in Seattle. Our focus at Gay City is to promote the comprehensive health – physical, mental, social, political, and spiritual – of all gay, bi, and trans men in Seattle. We are committed to a vision of a health, united, inclusive, gifted, and powerful gay community.

Lifelong AIDS Alliance was formed in 2001 through the merger of Chicken Soup Brigade and Northwest AIDS Foundation. We’ve come a long way since our beginnings in 1983, when a soup can was passed around Volunteer Park and collected the first $42 to help people living with HIV/AIDS in our community.

Today, we are staffers, volunteers, donors and community members from many different backgrounds. We are united in our determination to make sure that we never forget that HIV/AIDS still exists. We will be here until there is a cure.

We intentionally walk with the clients who come to us for services.  They are at a place in their lives where they can't do it alone, and we are there to help them reconnect to their own internal strength that will help solve the challenges they face.  Walking by their side, providing non-judgmental support and gentle guidance, we are able to help people reconnect to the best part of themselves, and become active, engaged and productive members of our community again.

Core Values

Compassion--The action of caring, supporting and being with someone.
Partnership--Participating in relationships to become more than we were.
Respect--Embracing the worth and life experience of each person.
Service--Engaging in life-affirming actions.
